Need support while applying for the Disability Tax Credit and Canada Disability Benefit? These organizations may be able to help.

April 16, 2026

Looking for help with your Disability Tax Credit (DTC) or Canada Disability Benefit (CDB) application? You may be able to get individualized help from a non-profit organization that has been trained and funded to help.

The Disability Tax Credit and Canada Disability Benefit are important income-related programs for people who experience severe disabilities and who are living on low incomes. Some individuals face unique barriers when it comes to completing their application for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC). Being approved for the DTC is required before an individual can apply for the Canada Disability Benefit.

The Canadian government has funded several non-profit organizations to help people navigate the application process for Disability Tax Credit and the Canada Disability Benefit. These organizations provide direct disability benefit navigation services to persons with disabilities and their families and caregivers. The Canadian government recently expanded the list of organizations that are funded to provide this type of support.

The following list of national organizations have been funded by the Government of Canada to help people in Ontario with their DTC and CDB applications. Click the name to get the organization’s contact info such as phone number and website.

  • Canadian Association of the Deaf
  • Disability Alliance British Columbia / Disability Alliance Canada
  • Independent Living Nova Scotia (French language support available)
  • Inclusion Canada
  • Indigenous Disability Canada / British Columbia Aboriginal Networks on Disability Society
  • Mood Disorders Society of Canada
  • Plan Institute
  • Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada

Contact details and other information about the organizations that are supporting individuals with their DTC and CDB applications will be updated periodically on this Government of Canada website: Organizations providing disability benefits navigation services.

Note: We are sharing this list of organizations for information purposes and cannot guarantee access to or quality of these services. ISAC does not endorse any organization that asks you to pay for services to support your DTC or CDB application.
