In the Media: “Court bars tribunal from using legal standard that led to dismissal of many human rights complaints”, Law Times

February 27, 2026

ISAC Staff Lawyer Nabila F. Qureshi was interviewed by the Law Times about the recent victory at Divisional Court in the case of Bokhari v. Top Medical Transportation Services.

The decision is considered an important victory because, in the words of Nabila, “It removes a really significant barrier to accessing the Human Rights Tribunal – to having your claim being actually able to proceed past the very threshold of the tribunal and actually go to an oral hearing.”

Further details about the case and the decision can be read in the full article posted on the Law Times website here.

The full Divisional Court decision can be found at this link (link opens to a PDF) and ISAC’s joint press release with Don Valley Community Legal Services can be found here.
