The Standing Committee on Finance is inviting submissions to its Pre-Budget Consultation in advance of the 2026 Budget. This means it’s time to share your thoughts on what the federal government’s budget priorities for the upcoming year should be.
There are usually two periods of consultation, one in March and one in August.
You can submit your thoughts on federal budget priorities in writing, either by submitting your written document through the Standing Committee’s website here, or emailing your written submission to the Finance Committee clerk.
All submissions to House of Commons Committees (including the Standing Committee on Finance) should follow the House of Commons guidelines on word count limits and page number limits. Check out the Guide for submitting briefs to House of Commons Committees for specific details.
