Election day is September 20, and the official election campaign started August 15.
An election period is a time to have your voice heard. Ask your local candidates about what they will do for low-income Ontarians. Talk to members of the general public about poverty-related issues that are important to you.
We have prepared some resources for use in your communities.
Please find the participation guide here (PDF) and here (Word) in English, and here (PDF) and here (Word) in French. This guide will help you find out how and where to vote and has ideas on where to have your voice heard.
We also have fact sheets on workers’ rights, disability poverty, child poverty, and recovery benefits that you can use in your communities. These will help you:
- Ask questions about core issues at public meetings and town halls.
- Bring these issues to the attention of all candidates.
- Add to any letters or other written materials developed in your local community.
- Spread awareness on some important issues related to poverty for low-income Ontarians.
